Stat of the Day, 11th September 2012
Yet again Richard Price evades me, as our SotD pick yesterday, You’ve Been Mowed, was backed all the way from the advised 10/1 down to 4/1… and then refused to enter the stalls! Darnation.
No matter, we’ll have another crack today, as we head for the Midlands and the…
5.20 Leicester
It’s a non-trainer stat today, which makes a bit of a change, but the horse in question deserves to take centre stage on his own. He has a five from eight record in Class 6 races; six wins from 22 on good or faster ground; has won five from seventeen over the mile and a quarter trip; is four from six on undulating tracks (like Leicester, though he’s never raced here before); he’s won two and placed in another from four starts in the visor he wears today; and, he’s got a five out of five head to head record against today’s opposition.
His name is Highlife Dancer, and he’s having his FOURTH run in September this afternoon!
The jockey, Robert Tart, actually looked pretty stylish when a staying on half length second to Gadobout Dancer at Beverley, and Highlife Dancer has since won. He was in Class 5 last time out when only fifth, and Class 6 is where his record is best.
If he’s not ‘cream crackered’, he’ll take some beating, and 7/1 BOG was available on the early, early show. I’m writing this the night before so do check the latest odds. Each way the safety first call, with a Class 6 career record of 17611121.
Oh, and Richard Price has the old boy Gallego in here with a chance. It’d be my Price luck that he popped up to beat us!
Oh number two, don’t forget you can check out SotD Extra over on the forum at http://forum.geegeez.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=176
