Fourth at 11/2 for our SotD pick yesterday, and the barren run continues.
It’s Ascot today, and one I hope will turn the tide…
David Pipe has a great record at Ascot, and a phenomenal record in Ascot handicap hurdles.
In the last few years, he’s won seven and placed in another seven from 34 runners, for a profit of 31.13 points.
Today he has two in the same race: Street Entertainer and War Singer.
The former has a squeak but it’s the latter which is most interesting, and today’s selection. Having failed to live up to his promise last season, he won comfortably on his debut this term, and the yard clearly think a lot of him.
The distance and going are the same as last time when he won, and while this is a step up in class, he’s getting weight from most of his rivals.
Despite being strongly competitive, the 6/1 is fair enough, and I’m having a bit win only.
