Welcome to our first Monday update of the New Year. Since the start of SotD back in mid-November 2011 we’ve always maintained that this is a team game, but I must hold my hands up here and recognise that January has started well mainly down to Matt’s picks, as I’ve been struggling to pick my own nose recently! It’s quite strange, as I’ve been doing quite well in other betting, but my own SotD picks haven’t quite worked out, the narrow defeat on New Year’s Day aside!

Nevertheless, it is, as mentioned, a joint effort and I shall be doing my level best to supplement Matt’s great work in the coming weeks and months.
