Stat of the Day, 25th March 2013
The recent technical issues means we’re a little late going to press this morning, but hopefully they’re all behind us now.
Unfortunately, yesterday’s effort from Llamadas wasn’t good enough and despite only being 4 lengths off the winner, he never really got involved, finishing 6th of 7 at 7/1. There’s not much on offer today, but we’ve got our eye on a 14-runner, 13 furlong, Class 6 handicap this afternoon aka the…
It’s another case of Hobson’s Choice today, as Lingfield is the only place in the UK & Ireland to host any racing, so our options are somewhat limited.
Today we’re looking at a horse whose own stats at this track/trip are worth considering as an E/W punt at the very least. And the horse in question is El Libertador.
On the face of things this horse’s record here at Lingfield is reasonable, but not outstanding. Just 2 wins from 22 for 5.5pts profit, whilst he has given an E/W return of 13.75pts via 9 place finishes (40.9%). As I said, reasonable not spectacular. He is however, consistent particularly at today’s sort of trip. He runs today at 1m5f and he has raced here at Lingfield over 12 to 13 furlongs on some twelve occasions now, and both of the above-mentioned victories and all nine places have come at this sort of distance.
At trips of 1m4f to 1m5f, his record here is 112428323423, a remarkable level of consistency there. He has only failed to make the first four home once from 12 attempts and has rewarded his followers with profits of 15.5pts ( +129.2%) for win bets and 33.75pts (+140.6%) at E/W stakes. This actually makes him a more attractive prospect as an E/W bet.
He is currently best priced at 8/1 BOG and this is on offer pretty much everywhere, so it’s a 0.5pts E/W bet on El Libertador at 8/1 BOG. I’ve got some money in my Bet365 account, so I’ll be using that today, but please feel free to shop around. The easiest way to do so, is to simply…
