No double landed yesterday, I’m afraid. The opening selection West Leake went well enough to take 2nd place at 6/1, enabling us to have a “live” runner in the second race. Unfortunately, Conducting failed to place at an SP of 14/1, eventually finishing 5th, despite only being two lengths off the eventual winner.
It’s a cross-card tea time all-weather double today, so on to the first leg, which is the…
Admirable Duque comes here in great form, seeking a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Wolverhampton recently. He has been raised 6lbs for his efforts, but the manner of his recent victories tends to suggest he’ll be going much higher than this in the future. Josh Baudains takes the ride today, hoping that his 7lb claim will more than negate the rise in weights. Admirable Duque is currently best priced at 4/1 in a 5-runner contest paying 2 places.
I think he’s got a real good chance of winning, but a place would suffice to give us a crack at the…
Where I have gone for Scribe at a current price of 11/2. A winner and a runner-up on his only 2 visits here in the past, he has enjoyed a good winter campaign finding some consistency on the various all-weather tracks with a form line reading 17241232. Well worth an E/W punt in a competitive looking race.
They’re not the longest priced horses in the world and both have a decent chance of winning, never mind just placing. A 31.5/1 win double would be nice, but I’d not turn my nose up at the 4.2/1 available for two places.
Back Admirable Duque and Scribe in an each way double with BetVictor with the win part paying 31.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
