Daily Dabble, 27th March 2013
It was another 1/2 day yesterday after our 11/2 shot Scribe was backed into 4/1 and duly finished third. Unfortunately, as far as the double was concerned, this was irrelevant as Admirable Duque had failed to trouble the leaders some ten minutes earlier. He seemed to be in with a decent chance at 5/1, but was very one-paced late on.
We’re hoping for a little better today from one A/W contest and a slog in the mud, all starting with…
Caledonia Prince is a course and distance specialist, with all five wins in his 26 race career coming here. His record over C&D is 112314113 : 5 wins from 9 for 25.5pts and 8 successful E/W bets paying 33.33pts. Caledonia Prince is currently a 6/1 shot in a race where Caldercruix is the obvious danger, but I fancy our chances of at least a place to take us into race 2, the…
Where Bertie Milan looks to have an excellent chance of at least a place at a current price of 11/2. A successful point to point horse who’ll relish both the mud and the stamina-sapping trip. He won cosily enough last time out at Carlisle and looked like he’d got another mile in him that day. Form of 32641 (all on soft and/or heavy) since being sent chasing, allied to his pointing successes means he’s a good chance of a place today
I think we’ve a decent chance of at least landing the place double, which pays 3.62 at current prices, with the win element looking like a very respectable 44.5/1.
Back Caledonia Prince and Bertie Milan in an each way double with BetVictor with the win part paying 44.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
