Daily Dabble, 4th April 2013
Allanard justified being a long shot yesterday, as my fears were realised when he failed to complete the race. He was struggling from a long way out and was pulled up well before the end of the contest. This rendered the second leg of the double irrelevant, but Black Truffle did at least keep his side of the bargain as a 5/1 runner-up, beaten by less than a length by the 2/1 winner.
I’m changing from my usual tactic of avoiding the big meetings by starting today’s effort in the…
Where Oscar Whisky looks far too long at 13/2 (Stan James), and generally available at a decent 6/1. Winner of this race in both 2011 & 2012, can be excused his poor run at Cheltenham last time out over 3 miles. Today’s trip of 2m 4f is far more appropriate for a horse who has won seven and fallen once in eight races at distances within a half furlong of today’s trip.
Whilst a place will do for the Dabble, there’s every chance we’ll have a winner on our hands going into the…
I’ve found another one here that looks to have been overpriced, in the shape of One Scoop or Two. With form of 322126 this year with that last run at a higher level than today’s contest, he comes in to tonight’s event in good form. He’s a triple course winner, with two victories over this course and distance, where has actually been placed in six out of eight races. C&D form coupled with a drop in class makes 8/1 (BetVictor) look very attractive.
The win double pays 62/1 with BetVictor, and is best odds guaranteed, of course. The place double pays just over 9/2 today at 4.72/1
Back Oscar Whisky and One Scoop or Two in an each way double with BetVictor with the win part paying 62/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
