Daily Dabble, 5th April 2013
No joy at all yesterday, as firstly Oscar Whisky came up short, finishing 4th having been backed into 5/1 and this was followed by a poor show from One Scoop or Two later in the evening. Our selection attracted plenty of support, halving in price from our advised 8/1, but never looked like winning. His late rally only served to make the final outcome a little more respectable.
I’ve got a couple of course and distance specialists lined up today in a bid to get back to winning ways, starting with the…
Where Tahiti Pearl looks like very good value at 13/2 with SkyBet (non-BOG, unfortunately, but 6/1 BOG available elsewhere). This horse comes here in good nick having been a winner three times and a runner-up twice from seven starts over the winter. His record over today’s 16.5f trip is excellent at 15111 for a shade under 11pts profit. Today will be his fourth outing at Sedgefield, where he is currently three from three, all over C&D. Those three races were on Good to Firm, Good and heavy, so he’s adaptable to the conditions too.
Tahiti Pearl should give us a very good chance of a “live” bet for the…
Where I’m hoping that us night owls will be rewarded by First Friday. Nine previous outing over course and distance have yielded the following string of results: 324514232. He was, admittedly, disqualified from that sole victory, but many bookies would have paid out as a winner (first past the post). Regardless of that decision, he has shown great consistency and has stepped up a gear in his last five races since being partnered by tonight’s jockey. It’s a tricky looking 17 runner contest, but it does mean we get 4 places to aim at and 13/2 BOG with BetVictor looks very appetising, he’s generally an 11/2 shot.
The win double pays 44.5/1 with BoyleSports, and is best odds guaranteed, of course. The place double pays 17/4 today at 4.25/1
Back Tahiti Pearl and First Friday in an each way double with BoyleSports with the win part paying 44.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
