According to the Racing Post, Leac An Scail needs heavy ground, but there’s no evidence of that in his overall form profile. Sure, he’s won on heavy, but he’s also won on good. His course record since unshipping in a novices’ handicap chase is 22111, and that’s attractive in the context of a race like this.

Sam Drake is good value for her seven pound claim, and has ridden this fellow a dozen times, and been in the frame on eight occasions, so they get on just fine together. Not only that, but she’s twice won in this Group 3 grade, and the trip and ground are both right for her. She has a fitness edge on market leaders, Nephrite and Foxtrot Romeo, that pair not having been out for 350 and 204 days respectively, and Rose should at least claim a place here at 5/1 BOG.
