A second place was all we could lay claim to, as Spinatrix ran a rare unplaced clunker for her in our second leg. Onwards…
She’s super consistent, she loves it soft, and she’s trained by a man in form. She’s Come On Annie. She’s stepping up in class, and carries a low weight as a consequence. It may have been the weight which stopped her the last twice (could be a small mare – conjecture on my part) and, if so, she could bounce back to winning ways.
At any rate, 7/2 looks fair.
I’m marrying her up with …
I don’t mind admitting I’ve gone a bit shorter today, as I really want to land a double for everyone! Bob’s Lady Tara is Alan Swinbank’s sole runner today. That’s material because the man is in devastating form just now. In fact, he has been for a while: since 21st February, Swinbank has run 39 horses. 16 of them have won. Since the 31st March, his form figures are a preposterous 11211311131925150.
Now it could be that he’s just going off the boil, but the National Hunt part of those numbers reads 11, and his previous runner in that sphere won as well!
Enough. Bob’s Lady Tara has had three tries, and been second twice. She needs to prove as effective on good going. If she does, she’ll probably win. Given the yard form, that’s a chance I’m prepared to take at about 5/1.
The double pays 26/1 and the place part is in the region of 11/4.
