Red Not Blue was never in contention yesterday and was staying on into a remote enough third when falling at the second last. It looks a sulky performance and he might be a horse with problems: he’s on my ‘handle with care’ list after that.
Today we’ll chance our arm with a seriously standing dish, in the…
It’s a sure sign that the Flat is back when Windsor start hosting their Monday evening fixtures. Before that, though, they have a Monday afternoon card. One lass who’s attended more than she’s missed in recent seasons is Choral Festival.
She only made her debut at the track on 14th June 2010, but in the intervening three years, she’s run there no less than 21 times here! Not only that, but she’s made the frame on fully 18 of those 21 starts.
Her form at today’s ten furlong trip is good: four of her six career wins have been over it. And in today’s grade – Class 5 – she’s won five times. She’s also won in Class 4 and off a career high mark of 68. Today she’s racing off a notch of 72, but has been placed off higher marks seven times since last winning. She also acts on any ground, with wins on good to firm and soft in her locker.
It is her first run for a while – 171 days, to be precise – and fitness has to be taken on trust. But that’s why she’s a general 12/1 in a fairly moderate contest, she’s worth chancing each way.
