Guarantee was smashed into but ran a clunker. Game over.
Newcastle is on the agenda for this afternoon, and hopefully a change of luck…
Donald McCain is in good form just now, and his Call Back has his conditions this afternoon. Class 4, check. Decent ground, check. Smallish field, check. He’s on a nice mark after some predictably sub-par efforts on softer going, and can bounce back today.
He’s around 8/1.
I’m plumping for a McCain double, with Mount Hope here. A novices’ handicap hurdle may not be perfect punting territory, but fast ground and a sharp two miles look optimal for this fellow, who won under similar conditions at Sedgefield this time last year. He could be a spring horse, and could spring a mild surprise here at around 7/1.
The double pays a general 71/1, with BetVictor. That’s best odds guaranteed.
