Happy St. George’s Day, everyone. No joy for us yesterday, I’m afraid as our first selection Sir Reginald ran a bit of a stinker really, meaning we had nothing on Admirable Duque, who belied his 20/1 odds by just fractionally missing out on a place. But today is another day and we’ve an evening, cross-country, cross-codes double for you starting with the
Featuring the in-form Jezza, who is a 4-times course winner and has returned figures of 1123 in his last four races (all here at Wolverhampton), the second of those victories coming over todays 2m1f trip. He does have a fairly hot favourite to contend with today, but he should be good enough to at least finish second at reasonable odds of 5/1 (BetVictor), giving at lease a fighting chance of a live bet in the…
Where I’m siding with the 9 yr old Meridiem who has shown signs of a return to his best form recently since a switch to Caroline Fryer’s yard, making the frame of each of his last two runs. A career record of 3 wins from 21 isn’t much to shout about, but his record at Towcester reads 212211, all over today’s course and distance. 5/1(generally) looks quite appealing for this one.
Back Jezza and Meridiem in an each way double with BetVictor, the win part paying 35/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed), whilst the place double is currently 4.06/1.
