We, unfortunately, drew another blank yesterday as both Rhagori and Oniz Tiptoes showed initial promise before weakening in the latter part of their races, Rhagori eventually finishing back in 8th of 10 runners, whilst Oniz Tiptoes ended up Oniz Backside (sorry!), as he fell three flights from home. 5.35 Wolverhampton

These apprentice handicaps tend to be won by horses either in good form and/or familiar with the track/conditions, as the jockeys aren’t (in my humble opinion!) sufficiently experienced enough to have a major outcome on events. So, to this end, I’m siding with Climaxfortackle, a 5 yr old lady in great nick at present. Since Christmas, her figures read 3223112 and she’s also a 3-times course winner, including a win over C&D. She’s generally a 6/1 shot this morning, but is available at 13/2 with William Hill.

7.00 Lingfield

Where I’ve gone with Seek The Fair Land (13/2 with BetVictor, but 6/1 generally). A triple course and distance winner, who has been running well of late, despite not troubling the bookies. The lack of a recent win has seen this horse come back down the weights and today’s mark is now the same as his last winning one and if he gives his run today, I’d expect him to be there or thereabouts. This 7 yr old tends to go well at this time of year too, two wins and two places from 5 runs in the month of April would back this up.

The double pays 51.5/1 and the place part is around 4.06/1 with William Hill (BOG, of course!).
