Yesterday wasn’t very good, I’m afraid. Sweeney Tunes failed to complete the race, being pulled up two up when well beaten, whilst Nicene Creed was very disappointing indeed. Backed into 9/2 favourite, this one was the last home of the 15 finishers and was some 60-plus lengths away from the horse in front. Here the selection is Ruth Carr’s Dubai Dynamo (a 6/1 chance with Bet365). This horse loves running here at Ripon having won twice and finished second three times from just nine attempts and all over today’s trip. This one comes here in good form after a win over this trip last Saturday at nearby Thirsk and is expected to put in another good performance today, enabling us to take some pennies over to race two, which is the…

4.55 Sandown

Where I’m taking a fairly speculative (12/1 with Bet365) punt on Spa’s Dancer. This is another horse that is well suited to both track and distance with a course record of 4213413, the last 5 of those runs over today’s C&D. This one seems to reserve its best form for Sandown and it’ll be interesting to see if a switch to a new yard can squeeze an extra bit of effort out of this 6 yr old today.

The double pays 90/1 and the place part is 9/1, both with Bet365 (BOG, of course!).
