No joy yesterday, as Pistol Basc failed to feature in the first race, whilst Bach on Tow was a non-runner. Pistol Basc was held up in the early stages and started to make some forward progress, before seeming to run out of steam in the closing stages, eventually finishing 6th at 9/2. We need better today an we’ve selected a couple of twilight flat races this evening starting with the…
Forceful Appeal is generally a 7/1 shot here, but William Hill does offer 15/2 at the moment. This horse has a reasonable 3 wins from 12 record, but seems to prefer Lingfield where all three of his victories have been achieved from five starts (one runner-up position too). His last win was off a mark of 83 in a Class 3 contest, he drops down to Class 4 today and runs off an attractive-looking 78.
Where the selection is Choral Festival, available at 13/2 with Hills. This horse rarely fails to perform at this track, having made the frame on 18 occasions from just 22 outings and has never been outside the first five home here. Backing this one E/W every time he turns out here gives a 63% ROI and I’m expecting at least another place tonight.
The double pays almost 63/1 and the place part is just over 11/2 at 6.5625, both with William Hill (BOG, of course!).
Back Forceful Appeal and Choral Festival in an each way double with William Hill, the win part paying 251/4 (62.75/1) (Best Odds Guaranteed)
