Yet another 1/2 day yesterday, as Rylee Mooch did enough to take 3rd place, giving us a shot at the place double with Hellbender. Unfortunately things didn’t go to plan, he got outpaced in the midsection and despite making some late progress, could only manage 5th place, some 4.5 lengths away from the places.
It’s high time we got a return from this, starting with the…
6 wins and 3 places from 26 over today’s 7f trip producing 31.8pts at betfair SP, with E/W returns of 24.5pts makes Kingscroft an attractive proposition whenever he runs. He won at Musselburgh and Wolverhampton last year and has performed pretty consistently since and ran really well at Thirsk on Saturday when finishing second over a mile on soft ground. The cut in the ground today won’t be an issue and he’ll be more suited by the drop back to his favoured trip. I fully expect him to be on the premises today at a current best price of 6/1. All being well, this will give us a fighting chance in the…
As alluded to in today’s Stat of the Day, former C&D winners returning to Nottingham having won last time out tend to fare very well. Danzoe is one such beast and comes here on the back of a very tiday win at Yarmouth over today’s 5f trip just a fortnight ago. This 6yr old has been performing very consistently of late, winning four of his last eight races, including that C&D victory last October. Incidentally his record at 5 furlongs in the last year reads 3117121 and the softness in the ground shouldn’t be an issue , as he has won on all surfaces from Good to Firm through to Heavy! This race is tougher than his recent challenges and although Darren Egan takes off three of the four pounds he has been raised, the competitive nature of this contest is reflected in the fact that he’s available as high as 13/2 (BetVictor) this morning.
The double pays 48/1 today and the place part is priced at 9/2 both with Bet365 (BOG, of course!).
Back Kingscroft and Danzoe in an each way double with Bet365, the win part paying 48/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
(The win double is 55/1 and the place double is 5/1 with Skybet, but they’re non-BOG)
