Daily Dabble, 28th May 2013
It was, my friends, another blank day yesterday, as we failed to even get a place. Firstly She Can Jig, showed she had a fleet turn of foot and was flying at the business end of the race. The bad news was that she had to come from so far off the pace, it was ridiculous, held up at the very back of the field for far too long. The end result was a 4th place, but still only a length and a half behind the winner. This one will win races when kept closer tot he head of the pack in future.
And then onto Flying Clarets, who ran really well for 4.5 furlongs. Unfortunately the race was a 5f affair and he seemed to go into reverse at that point, finally coming home 9th of 10, some 11 lengths shy of the winner he was tracking moments earlier.
We have, however, another crack at this conundrum today, beginning with the…
Our Man Zebo comes here in good form and looks a progressive type. Runner-up in back to back point events before trying his hand under rules. 3rd on debut in a 2.5 miles NH Flat race on Soft to heavy ground at Cork eight weeks ago and he progressed nicely to take a 4 length victory over course and distance last time out on soft ground four weeks ago. The conditions are ideal for him and Barry Geraghty is on board today, which is a bonus. Attractively priced at 6/1 with Bet365 and William Hill.
Catalinas Diamond saves all her best form for this track, with all three of her career victories coming here at Lingfield. She also possesses a 50% place strike rate here. She has two C&D wins under her belt and has made the frame on seven occasions from 14 attempts here. She stayed on to finish 2nd here last time out behind If So, who will be a hot favourite here today, but our selection is 7lbs better off today and could well snatch this at a decent price (8/1 in places)
The double pays 62/1 today and the place part is priced at over 9/2 (4.72/1), both with William Hill (BOG, of course!).
Back Our Man Zebo and Catalinas Diamond in an each way double with William Hill, the win part paying 62/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
