Yesterday wasn’t one of our better ones I’m sorry to say. Burnt Again was withdrawn, which meant we had just a 1pt E/W single on Rich Buddy, who failed to either shine or deliver. Of the ten runners that set out, only five finished and our selection was 5th of those five! So, whilst he did well to complete an attritional race, the fact that he was over 70 lengths way from the places wasn’t great.
I’m hoping for better today with two in-form horses, although the first is a little more speculative than the second and it goes in the…
Sofias Number One has been good to Stat of the Day readers in the past and comes here on the back of four straight wins, including one over today’s 7f trip. this would make him an excellent prospect today, but for the fact that all his recent form has been on the A/W and it remains to be seen if he can repeat the feat on turf. That said, odds of up to 7/1 are available about him today, he really is in cracking form and runs off a lower mark than he would on the A/W. he carries bottom weight today and his jockey (1/1 on this horse) takes another 5lbs off for his claim. This represents the horse’s best chance to kickstart a turf campaign so far (in my opinion, of course).
Tawseef is one of those consistent E/W type horses with a record of only failing to make the frame once from nine handicap races on turf, where his record reads 341231281, including one win over today’s course and distance and his handicap record over today’s 10f trip reads 11281 with profits of 13.57pts at betfair SP and 15pts for E/W backers. These stats make his odds of up to 7/1 of interest today.
The double pays 55/1 today and the place part is priced at just over 5/1 (5.05/1), both with Boylesports (BOG, of course!).
Back Sofias Number One and Tawseef in an each way double with Boylesports, the win part paying 55/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
