Daily Dabble, 10th June 2013
Desperate yesterday upon my return to the chair, and the only way is up.
We start with the…
6.10 Southwell
It’s pants racing today, and I’ve really struggled to find three horses (one SotD and two DD) to nominate. However, I am able to make a case for Midnight Macarena, who has form as recently as two starts back, when she won a novice hurdle. She was then beaten in handicap hurdle company, and reverts to chasing tonight.
She’s previously won two handicap chases, one at this trip, and has a similar mark to her last winning one, which was in December last year. The ground should be fine, as should the grade, and Midnight Macarena can go close at around 15/2.
Then it’s hopefully onwards to the
8.10 Southwell
I’m taking a chance here with a horse with good course form, but which needs to show more than he did last time. Tamarillo Grove represents the smart Sophie Leech yard, and has won over this course and distance last Summer. He’s five pounds higher than then, but that shouldn’t make too much difference in a race like this, and he’s expected to improve a lot for his seasonal debut (form last year started 01).
The quicker the ground, the better for him and he has bottom weight here in a grade he’s already won in. Money has come for him, and that looks significant.
Back Midnight Macarena and Tamarillo Grove in an each way double with William Hill, the win part paying 81.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
