One out of two again yesterday, I’m afraid. Meddling battled on dourly to just hold onto third place by a neck, having just lost second place by the same distance. Thankfully the line came when it did, as just 2 necks and a head separated runner from 2nd to 5th. We’d taken 7/1 there, which meant we’d a good chance of a 5/1 place double, but then went by the by, when Eager to Bow wasn’t eager to compete. He was always in the rear and eventually came home 8th of 11 and 2 lengths or so shy of the money.
Back to back races in Yorkshire for us today starting with…

Talent Scout rediscovered some form with the reapplication of cheekpieces (worn again today) when making all under Gemma Tutty in a 1m apprentice contest at Carlisle and as such, escapes a penalty this afternoon. He won far more comfortably than the bare result (winning margin of a neck) would suggest, as he seemed to have plenty in hand. In good heart and ridden again by Gemma Tutty, this one has a great chance at 11/2, especially if allowed to dictate affairs. Hopefully, they’ll set us up nicely for the…

Six of Shadowtime‘s seven career victories have come on this track and he comes here in good form, having run creditable placed efforts all 4 races this year. Although he’s a little higher in the weights than is ideal, he really does save his best form for this track with six course wins, five of which were over today’s trip. At 6/1 this morning, he looks a decent bet for at least the runner-up slot, if not the actual win.
The double pays 89/2 today and the place part is priced at just under 5/1 (4.9375/1 if you want to be exact!), both with either BetVictor or William Hill (BOG, of course!).
Back Talent Scout & Shadowtime in an each way double with BetVictor or William Hill, the win part paying 89/2 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
