I’m running a little late today (again!), so I’ll keep the preamble as brief as possible!
No joy yesterday: Lily’s Angel just got swamped late on and missed out by a neck or so, finishing second, whilst Encrypted Message is still possibly still stuck in decode mode. Unplaced is the politest and easiest way to describe that one, before swiftly moving back to the UK for today’s duo, which start with the…
The Philip Kirby yard is absolutely flying at the moment and they run Platinum here, generally a 6/1 shot. He won over Course & Distance three weeks ago, staying on well to beat the re-opposing Merchant of Dubai and I expect him to go close again today, despite a 6lb rise in the weights. Previous C&D winners go well here at Musselburgh which is also a bonus. All this will hopefully give us a run at the…
I’m going with Tidentime on this one, as the 13/2 on offer looks decent value today for a horse who is raised just 4lbs for a win at Lingfield 13 days ago having tumbled down the handicap after a fruitless 3 yr old campaign. This one is trained by Mick Channon who is a good exponent in the usage of 3lb claiming jockeys on horses priced between 9/2 and 20/1 (18 winners from 97 races for 102pts profit in three seasons) and he also has a great record in these apprentice handicaps with horses priced under 20/1 with 17 wins from 65 producing 80pts profit.
The double pays 51.5/1 today and the place part is priced at just over 4/1, both with William Hill (BOG, of course!).
Back Platinum & Tidentime in an each way double with William Hill, the win part paying 51.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
