We ended the week with a good result, as both Art History and Huffoof made the frame in back to back races at Pontefract.

Art History stayed on well in the closing stages to take third place almost in the shadow of the winning post at decent odds of 7/1, a full point longer than we’d expected/advised, which gave us a fighting shot of a place double in the 4.40 race.

We’d selected Huffoof at 9/1. the fifth favourite in a 6-runner race, but she managed to dictate the bulk of the race, as we’d hoped and she duly came home a 15/2 winner. This meant that we at least landed the place double at 6.8/1. Not quite the main (79/1) prize, but a welcome return to the winners’ enclosure nonetheless.

2.30 Chepstow

Although Pandorica has managed to find just one horse better than her in each of her last three outings, she’s certainly in good form and showing decent levels of consistency. And despite her last victory coming almost ten months ago, that win was over today’s course and distance and her record at Chepstow reads 1242 and all of her three career victories to date have been over today’s ten furlong trip. 2.45 Wolverhampton

Dangerous Age is an interesting runner this afternoon as she returns to A/W action after a couple of indifferent efforts on turf. Her form in her first four outings (all on A/W surfaces) read 3113 including a course and distance win here at Wolverhampton back in February. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if she put those two poor turf runs behind her today and if she shows any kind of return to her previous A/W form, then there’s every possibility of at least a place and at odds of up to 15/2 available, there looks to be some value knocking about this morning.
