Onwards, after a crappy Thursday, beginning with the…
It usually pays to side with those that have shown they can act here, and Enriching definitely has. He’s three from three in Class 6 handicaps, has won twice over course and distance, loves fast ground, and has beaten the two of these he’s taken on in recent times. Jockey Shane Kelly has won on him as well, so knows the horse well enough, and he should get a nice tow into the race from the pace-pressing Jonnie Skull.
5/1 looks a fair price about a horse with so much going for him.
If we’re still going, we’ll be cheering in the…
I don’t mind admitting I’ve deliberately gone shortish in the second leg, as I’d like to get us on the board if we can. Spellbind is a beautifully bred Godolphin filly, and she’s been well backed this morning by a stable who don’t put their money down that often. The opposition looks weak on known form – beyond the obvious exception of Lamar – and this Shamardal filly should at least make the frame and could well win. (The yard has a line on the form as their Wedding Ring won the maiden in which Lamar was fifth).
She’s 7/2 best price, and the double pays 26/1 BOG today with BetVictor, with the place element 5/2 or so. Like I say, it’s a less earth-shattering payoff today, but hopefully a lot more likely to happen!
Back Enriching & Spellbind in an each way double with BetVictor, the win part paying 26/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
