A pair of fourth placed finishes was all we could muster yesterday in one of those “close, but no cigar” days. Both horses ran well enough without troubling the judges, as firstly Argent Knight was less than 4 lengths behind the winner, but a couple shy of the money.
This was followed by a similarly narrow defeat for Emmuska, she was actually a little further away from the winner, but only three parts of a length off being placed.
Near misses don’t pay though, so we crack on with a couple for Friday, starting with the…
Cashpoint is very lightly raced for an 8 yr old with just 18 prior starts to his name and only four in the last 12 months. He comes here in great form though, having ran really well to finish 2nd at Newbury in mid-May and he followed that up with a good win over today’s Course and Distance last time out, just over four weeks ago. He is raised 6lbs for that recent win, but he still looks quite favourably treated at the weights and the manner in which he closed out that last victory, the current odds of 13/2 look quite appealing. If he is kept a little closer to the action today, he stands a great chance of taking this one.
Cincinnati Kit is on a roll at present having won three of her last four outings and whilst this race represents a further step up in quality, the current odds of 17/2 look attractive. She is of course climbing in the weights as a result of her good form and this run is undoubtedly destined to stop at some point. The way she has run of late suggests that there’s still at least one more big run in her before the handicapper finally catches up, so whilst this might be a bit of a speculative punt, it is still one I think will pay off today, as she’s still receiving a fair chunk of weight from some of her rivals.
Today’s double pays 131/2 BOG today with BetVictor, whilst the place element is priced at almost (4.94/1 to be exact).
Back Cashpoint & Cincinnati Kit in an each way double with BetVictor with the win part paying 65.5/1 (Best Odds Guaranteed)
