Daily Dabble, 26th July 2013
Pretty poor results from a poor day’s racing, yesterday, I’m afraid. Ducab was well beaten, back in 6th place of the 7 runners, whilst Heirloom fared little better, finishing 4th of 7, despite being sent off as the 11/10 favourite.
We’re looking for and expecting better this evening, starting with the…
I don’t particularly like backing odds on shots, but I actually there could be some value in the 5/6 currently available for Supreme Bailerina, as the mare attempts to make it 2 from 2 in her fledgling career. Trained by Willie Mullins and of excellent NH breeding, she absolutely scooted home on debut at Limerick on her debut 19 days ago.
She was patiently ridden and held up for a finish there and as soon as she was asked for an effort, she fair sprinted clear of the field, opening up a lead of 8 lengths after taking pole position inside the final furlong. Today’s trip is shorter, but the turn of foot shown that day makes her the most likely here..
Ehtedaam runs for the in form Saeed bin Suroor here and has an excellent chance of winning his fourth race in five starts here at reasonable odds of 2/1. This 4 yr old was an emphatic (5l+) at Sandown over today’s 1m trip just 9 days ago and attempts to stay one step ahead of the handicapper by turning out here tonight: he is due to be raised 4lbs tomorrow! he did play up a little on entering the stalls last time, but provided he goes in, I expect him to win at around 2/1.
Back Supreme Bailerina & Ehtedaam in a double with Boylesports paying 9/2 BOG.
