As I said yesterday, I don’t often back horses at odds on, but Supreme Bailerina looked very long at yesterday’s advised 5/6 and this certainly looked the case as she absolutely bolted home by some 13 lengths. She was sent off as short as 8/13, so we certainly got the value with that one.

This gave us 1.83pts onto race 2, where Ehtadaam had been backed by us at 2/1. Our selection went well initially, leading up to the 7f mark. Unfortunately this was a one mile race and he faded pretty badly in that last furlong, to the extent that he was beaten by some seven lengths.

Today is another day, offering lots of opportunities and I’ve found a couple that I like the look of, starting with the…

4.50 Newcastle

Ingenti is the pick here and she looks to have been well placed in this one. She was entered for this race before she had won at Hamilton last week and as a result runs from a mark 2lbs higher the maximum cut-off for the race. This race doesn’t look as tough as that outing at Hamilton and I fully expect her to defy the 5lb penalty she now carries as a result of that success.

The yard are keeping her busy whilst she’s running well, today will be her 4th race in 22 days, but she showed no signs of fatigue when winning 9 days ago when producing the best performance of her career to date. 7lb claimer Kevin Stott was on board for the first time that and he’s now 311 for the yard. He’s back on board today and the way he got a good tune out of his mount last time should bode well for today where Ingenti is a 100/30 chance.

8.15 Salisbury

Just four go to post for this one and I really like the look of Sunny Future here. He has won twice over a mile and a half here within the last seven weeks, with a third place over C&D sandwiched between those victories. He stays much further than this if truth be told and despite conceding chunks of weight all round, looks the one to beat, hence 11/10 being the best price on offer. The booking of Richard Hughes is both significant and positive and if allowed to take an early lead, could be very difficult to peg back. This horse is still progressing nicely and I fancy him to make it three wins from four today.

Back Ingenti Sunny Future in a double with BetVictor paying 8.1/1 BOG.
