Doncaster Trainer Stats – St Leger Meeting
This week (Weds 11th-Sat 14th Sept 2013) sees the four day Doncaster St Leger Meeting get underway – and to help you find a few winners Andy Newton highlights five stables that have fantastic record at the track, while there are also three leading yards that don’t do as well as you might think with their Town Moor runners……
Yards To Look Out For……
ROGER VARIAN (Doncaster Track Stats: 11 winners from his last 45 runners, 24%): The Varian yard head into the Doncaster St Leger Meeting in cracking form anyway, but with their excellent 24% record in recent years with their runners then anything they run should be noted.
Doncaster Track Stats……
2 year-olds: 2 from 10, 20%
3 year-olds: 7 from 24, 29%
4+year-olds: 2 from 11, 18%
SAEED BIN SUROOR (Doncaster Track Stats: 23 winners from his last 115 runners, 20%): The boys in blue do well at this track, and despite only been training a little while their new handler, Charlie Appleby, should be noted too – he’s already 2 from just 5 at the track. Bin Suroor boasts a 20% strike-rate but with a 32% record with his juveniles then look for any youngsters they run over the 4 days.

2 year-olds: 10 from 31, 32%
3 year-olds: 8 from 41, 20%
4+year-olds: 5 from 43, 12%
JAMES FANSHAWE (Doncaster Track Stats: 15 winners from his last 76 runners, 20%): Ticking along nicely this season with over 30 winners and look on target to make this their best campaign in terms of winners for some time. Note any Donny 2 year-olds as they are 2 from 5 (40%), but also do well with their older horses at the track (9 from 37, 24%, +£29)

3 year-olds: 4 from 34, 12%
4+year-olds: 9 from 37, 24%
RICHARD HANNON (Doncaster Track Stats: 34 winners from his last 165 runners, 21%): This powerful yard have so many runners across the tracks which makes maintaining a decent strike-rate that much harder. Therefore, when you find a track they boast a 20%+ record at with their runners then we should stand up and take note. Pay special attention to any juveniles they send to post – they’ve a 24% strike-rate in that age group at the course.

2 year-olds: 23 from 95, 24%
3 year-olds: 8 from 49, 16%
4+year-olds: 3 from 21, 14%
ED WALKER (Doncaster Track Stats: 3 winners from his last 11 runners, 27%): This new and up-coming yard have made a great start with their runners at Doncaster. They’ve had a winner in all age brackets (2, 3 4+), and are showing a +£3.88 level stakes profit with their runners at the course.

3 year-olds: 1 from 2, 50%
4+year-olds: 1 from 6, 17%
JOHN GOSDEN (Doncaster Track Stats: 28 winners from his last 137 runners, 20%): With over 70 winners this season then breaking the 100 mark should not be a problem for this powerful yard before the year is out. At Doncaster in recent years they are showing a +£15 level stakes profit, while look out for any older horses they run this week – they are 7 from 24 (29%) with their 4+year-olds at the course.
