Double Dutch, 18th October 2013

Well, we finally got there! We’ve managed to drag this feature into profitability (just!!) after a horrendous start to proccedings as Thursday’s results mirrored those of Wednesday.

Just as the day before, we had the winner and the third placed horse in both races and what was an advised 5.19/1 double from our two main picks actually paid out at 8/1, because Standing Ovation drifted from 15/8 to 3/1 and Art of Logistics was returned at Evens, but we got on at 5/4 further highlighting the need to use Best Odds Guaranteed bookies.

You really need to have accounts with all the BOG bookies to make this game pay and if you haven’t got accounts with all of them, then this little tool can save you some time and effort.

Yesterday’s results were as follows:

Your first 30 days for just £1

Standing Ovation: won at 3/1
Glenwood Prince: 3rd at 100/30 (SP 9/4)
———————————
Art of Logistics: won at 5/4 (SP evens)
Darwins Fox: 3rd

Trial to date:
47 winning selections from 157 = 29.94%
14 winning doubles in 43 days = 32.56%

Stakes: 84.5pts
Returns: 85.9pts

P/L : +1.40pts (+1.63% ROI)

That’s now an unbelievable five winning doubles in the last seven days and although the odds are a little shorter than I’d like today, I’m very confident of keeping the run going with these…

3.30 Haydock

With the defection of Windfast, who would have made this a tricky race to call, we’re now left with just three runners. Of the three, I just can’t see See The Sun winning this one, despite the old wives’ tale about backing the outsider in a three-horse race. The bookies don’t often get it wrong and to be priced at 5/1 in a three-horse race says enough in this one.

He ran very poorly last time out and has quite a bit to find to match the other two runners, who therefore get selected by default! Red Stargazer is the likely favourite and currently trades at around the 6/5 mark with several bookies whilst Musical Comedy is a 6/4 shot with most firms.

4.50 Redcar

Two horses stand out here in this one and it’s likely to be tough to call the winner between Great Minds and Dutiful Son. Fortunately, I don’t have to split them for this bet! Great Minds is the likely favourite here (currently 11/8 generally), whilst Dutiful Son is best priced at 2/1 with William Hill and BetVictor.

Great Minds was beaten on the line last time out, just failing to land a gamble having been backed from 14/1 to an SP of 3/1 and looks set to go close again here stepping up to a trip that his breeding suggests will be ideal for him. Dutiful Son was 2nd here over course and distance last month and the three horses immediately behind him that day have all run well since. The ground was soft last time, as it will be today, so that should play to his strengths.

4 x 0.5pt BOG doubles as follows:
Red Stargazer / Great Minds @ 5.21 with Bet365
Red Stargazer / Dutiful Son @ 6.60 with BetVictor
Musical Comedy / Great Minds @ 5.95 with Betfred and BetVictor
Musical Comedy / Dutiful Son @ 7.50 with BetVictor
