As expected, Adam Kirby was amongst the winners at Lingfield yesterday, landing an 11/1 double from his six rides, but he could only finish fourth on board our selection.

Royal Etiquette was well backed from our 7/2 advisory into 9/4 favouritism at the off and was a little unlucky in running. He was held up for a run, as expected, but encountered too much traffic and got boxed in. By the time he got back out, the race was gone, despite him finishing very strongly.

1.15 Punchestown:

Fairly short and sweet today, folks. Trainer Denis Hogan has four winners from nine with handicappers priced at 8/1 or under on heavy ground at Punchestown. The profits from these nine races amount to 10.06pts, a return of 111.78% from an admittedly small sample size.

Two of those wins have come in this very race and both were won by today’s selection Luke’s Benefit, who now attempts to take this event for the third successive year.

Brian’s in the saddle again today and his 7lb claim means that Luke’s Benefit effectively runs off a mark five pounds lower than last year’s victory.

Track, trip and conditions are all set perfect for him today, so it’s a 1pt win bet on Luke’s Benefit to close out another successful year for SotD. I’ve taken the 4/1 BOG on offer from BetVictor, but you can, as always…
