Cheltenham Festival Bookie Offer Silly Season

Best Cheltenham Festival Bookmaker Offers

It’s Cheltenham Festival 2014 time, and as the first day of the four day meeting looms, the bookies are falling over each other to get us betting with them. If you’re open-minded enough to be receptive to the idea of opening a new account for a ‘no brainer’ value proposition, then you’re in luck. A lot of luck!

Below I’m listing all of the bookmaker offers as I find them for the Cheltenham Festival. For each bookmaker, I’ve outlined their new customer offer, their Cheltenham specials, their ‘normal’ everyday specials, and a word on how I’d play the offer if I was a new customer. I’ve also given a rating of how worthwhile opening a new account is if you don’t currently have one with that bookie.

If you know of a great offer that readers can benefit from, please leave a comment below this post. (And thanks!)

OK, so here goes, starting with…

bet365

New Customer Offer: 100% deposit match from £10 up to £200 on your first deposit. So if you deposit and bet £200 (or £10) bet365 will match that with free bets totalling £200 (or £10, or whatever amount in between). [You need to play through your initial deposit and free bet amount three times before withdrawing.]

Cheltenham Specials: bet365 are non-runner money back on all races at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival. They’re also Best Odds Guaranteed on all Festival races, so if you take a price now and the SP is bigger, you’ll get the SP. If bet365 are top or joint top price on your fancy, you should bet with them.

Everyday Specials: 4/1 offer. On selected races, if you back a winner at 4/1 or bigger, you’ll get a free bet to the same stake on the next qualifying race.

How I’m playing: I’m using bet365 wherever they’re top or joint top price at the Festival. If my horse doesn’t run, I’ll get my money back. If it does, and starts a bigger price than I took, I’ll get the bigger price.

Score: 10/10. Most people already have a bet365 account, and it’s obvious why. They offer a raft of concessions which all offer additional value to the punter. If you don’t have an account with them, they are my number one recommendation.

Paddy Power

New Customer Offer: Paddy are offering an (hugely) enhanced priced double, consisting of Quevega (Mares Hurdle) and Sire de Grugy (Champion Chase), at 12/1. The best odds available on this are around 4/1, so this is triple the odds. There are various ways to play it, including laying the double on Betfair; laying the two horses individually; or just good old-fashioned letting it ride.

Cheltenham Specials: The best Cheltenham Festival race special so far, for ALL customers, is PP’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle offer. They will refund stakes if your selection finishes second, third or fourth in the opening race of the Festival. They WILL lose money on this offer, but they will also have lots of customers with money in their Power accounts, and that’s their tactic. So, this is one that you really should take advantage of if you’re planning to bet in the Supreme.

Paddy is also non-runner money back on all races.

Everyday Specials: A wide range of specials are available, including enhanced prices, extra places, and best odds guaranteed.

How I’m playing: I’m betting with Paddy if they’re best price my fancy, and I’ll also be playing the Supreme offer once I’ve had a look at the race and found a bet. An alternative would be to back the favourite, Irving, who looks likely to go very close.

Score: 10/10. A cracking 12/1 offer to kick off with, and that can be topped up straight away with the Supreme money back if 2nd, 3rd or 4th offer. Two very good reasons to be with PP

SkyBet

New Customer Offer: Get a free matched bet up to £30 on your first deposit.  So when you deposit and bet up to £30 SkyBet will match that with a free bet for the same stake.

Cheltenham Specials: SkyBet are non-runner money back on all races at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival. They’re also Best Odds Guaranteed on all Festival races, so if you take a price now and the SP is bigger, you’ll get the SP. If SkyBet are top or joint top price on your fancy, you should bet with them.

AND if you bet in the first race each day, and the favourite wins, SkyBet will refund losing stakes of £5 to £25 with a free bet to the same amount.

Everyday Specials: Best Odds Guaranteed on all races, and often have extra place concessions on big handicaps.

How I’m playing: I’m using SkyBet wherever they’re top or joint top price at the Festival. If my horse doesn’t run, I’ll get my money back. If it does, and starts a bigger price than I took, I’ll get the bigger price.

Score: 10/10. A good opening offer, and the combination of non-runner money back and best odds guaranteed on Festival ante post bets is very strong. If they’re top or joint top price on your fancy, it would be daft to wager it elsewhere. But the kicker is getting the favourite on your side in the opening race each day for a free bet.

A very strong combined offer.

Betfred

New Customer Offer: Get a free matched bet up to £25 on your first deposit.  So when you deposit and bet up to £25 Betfred will match that with a free bet for the same stake.

Cheltenham Specials: Betfred are non-runner money back on all races at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival. But their Quevega offer is one of the best in ‘the village’. Back any horse in the Mares’ Hurdle, and if Quevega wins you’ll get your money back as a free bet, up to £25.

Everyday Specials: Best Odds Guaranteed on all races. 5x odds one winner on Lucky 63’s, 4x odds one winner on Lucky 31’s; 3x odds one winner on Lucky 15’s.

How I’m playing: I’m backing either Sirene d’Ainay or Highland Retreat on the Quevega offer for the full £25. If Queen Quevega wins again, I’ll have a free bet to work on later.

Score: 10/10. A cracking offer, and the non-runner money back on Festival ante post bets is strong. If you’re betting in the Mares’ Hurdle on anything other than Quevega, do it with BaldyBet!

Coral

New Customer Offer: Either 1) bet £5, get £20 free bet; or 2) 4/1 Quevega to win the Mares’ Hurdle.

Cheltenham Specials: Coral are non-runner money back on all races at the 2014 Cheltenham Festival. And their Quevega ‘new customer’ offer is one of the best in ‘the village’. Back Quevega at 4/1, up to a maximum stake of £10

Everyday Specials: Best Odds Guaranteed on all races. Money back as a free bet on all fallers in UK jump racing, up to £25 stake.

How I’m playing: I already have a Coral account. If I didn’t, I’d be grabbing that 4/1 Quevega offer with both hands. Quite simply, I think she’ll win.

Score: 8/10. An excellent ‘new customer’ offer. For existing customers, there’s not too much to get excited about, though if you know you’re backing a dodgy jumper, Coral might be the place to bet it, with their free bet concession on fallers.

Everyday Specials: Best Odds Guaranteed on all races from 9am.

How I’m playing: I will be having a bet in the Champion Hurdle on My Tent Or Yours, with the Hurricane Fly concession. If my horse doesn’t win, I have the Fly on my side to get another chance to back a winner!

Score: 8/10. A very good offer to ‘de-risk’ a race that is a very tricky punting puzzle.
