The market here looks a bit lop-sided as Dangerous Age, a consistent horse that finds winning hard, is short at 9/4.
The one I like against him is Monumental Man, trained by James Unett. He’s run four times at Lingfield and won three of them. His full form string is 1113, and that record includes a course, distance and class victory.
Although this is his first start for 202 days, he has gone well fresh before, including when winning that similar race alluded to above after a layoff of ten weeks.
Jockey David Probert gets on very well with the horse, as figures of 11141 demonstrate. And the pace profile of the race looks reasonable too: Monumental Man likes to go from the front and, while stall six is only fair, there is not too much speed on his inside.
Fitness does have to be taken on trust a little, but that’s why he’s a 10/1 shot with bet365, best odds guaranteed of course, and I’ll take half a point each way.
