Prize Tipping Competition Final Scores

Cheesy podium snap
Well, that was fun!
The five day tipping contest drew to a close this afternoon, and there was a twist in the tale as late entry, Dick Dann, snatched a bit of place money by bagging the 25/1 winner of the last race. It was Dick’s only scoring horse in the whole competition and beautifully illustrated the “it’s not over until it’s over” principle I’ve been labouring all week. 🙂
Subject to accounts being ratified, Dick will receive £40 in free bets from 888sport if his is a new account with them. Or, better still – ahem – he’ll get a copy of my new Under The Radar Trainers 2014 report, which notched a juicy winner with its only runner today! That report will be retailing for £27 in the next day or two.
Above Dick, Sam Walker fought off another late challenger in richie0007, whose nomination of 16/1 Captain Myles was enough to leap from -2.75 to +13.25, second place and – again subject to the account rules being satisfied – £60 in free bets. Nice work.
But Sam, despite drawing a final day blank, did enough to hold on… just! In the end, he had just one point to spare over the big-priced closers. But a point is a point, and it means El Shanko will receive £120 in free bets from 888sport, above mentioned proviso’s notwithstanding.
Rounding out the top five, and therefore first in line for the free bet prizes, were early pace setter, Big Al Holmes; and Essexboy, Mike Aston. £20 and £10 free bet vouchers respectively, account status according.
Positions six to ten, with scores from 5.5 down to 2.75 respectively, will each receive either a free bet or a copy of Under The Radar Trainers 2014, depending on the account statuses of the top five players.
In case the above is not clear, let me clarify: all players must have a 888sport account to qualify for a prize. If the account is new this month, then a free bet prize is due. If the account is older, then a Under The Radar Trainers 2014 prize is due. Hope that helps!
I really enjoyed scoring the contest and, as I’d suggested, there was scope for a big price to salvage some players’ week. In the end, a 16/1 shot and a 25/1 shot propelled two lads into the top three. I was surprised more players didn’t take three chances today. But then, barely a day goes by when something doesn’t surprise me!!!
The final scores are below, and I’ll be in touch with prize winners hopefully by the end of the week.
Thanks a million for playing, and if you enjoyed this, get stuck into our monthly tipping competition here.
