Double Dutch, 17th June 2014
It was a familiar tale yesterday, as we yet again 1-2’d, with a winner in the first and a runner up – beaten half a length – in the second. Onwards, for our chance is surely near at hand…

REMINDER: THERE IS NO DOUBLE DUTCH ON SUNDAYS
I’ve previewed this race elsewhere, and I think it looks set fair for Toronado to show what a good horse he is. The more I’ve read this morning, the stronger the vibes I’ve felt for the new Ballydoyler, Verrazano, however, and he looks the main danger if he’s as good as connections think he is. Certainly, he’s entitled to come on plenty for that first run of the season when his stable was perhaps struggling a little. 10/11 Toronado and 9/2 Verrazano.

Again, this was previewed here, and I consider it little more than a match, with a real chance that Night Of Thunder can come out on top as he did when beating Kingman in the 2000 Guineas.

Toronado / Kingman @ 3.82/1 (10/11 & Evs : PP)
Toronado / Night Of Thunder @ 5.69/1 (10/11 & 5/2 : PP)
