REMINDER: THERE IS NO DOUBLE DUTCH ON SUNDAYS
It’s fairly uninspiring stuff, but the below pair of pairs – due off back to back shortly before 4.30pm – could reap a nice reward…
Ostensibly a trappy looking handicap hurdle, but there’s one with a proven level of form, and one potential big improver. The Kings Assassin (9/4 BOG) has arguably the best recent form, with a course and distance win to his name as well. He’s been creeping up the weights without winning, which is a bit of a worry, but does still have more in his favour than most.
If he finds one too many again, then it might be the Tony McCoy-driven Finding Your Feet (3/1 BOG). He’s a very interesting player, after consecutive seventh places dropped his handicap mark to within two pounds of his last winning rating. A break of 51 days should have freshened him up, and the market speaks in his favour.

They may not have even crossed the line in leg one before the tapes rise on leg two, so we’ll not have long to wait to discover our fate. This is another case of established form and potential improver, with the form horse being Kim Bailey’s last time out winner, West End (11/8 BOG). He was having only his third run over fences when dotting up by eighteen lengths there, and with his jockey’s five pound claim is still only a pound higher than his last winning hurdle mark.
I think he’ll probably double up, but if he doesn’t, Green Bank (5/1 BOG) could be about to put in a big effort. Charlie Longsdon has a fine record at Stratford, and this fellow looks likely to try to make all. Down to a winnable mark and after a month’s break, he could lead them until very close to the line.
4 x 0.5pt E/W doubles as follows:
The Kings Assassin / West End @ 6.63/1 (9/4 & 11/8 : SkyBet)
The Kings Assassin / Green Bank @ 17/1 (2/1 & 5/1 : bet365)
Finding Your Feet / West End @ 8/1 (3/1 & 5/4 : bet365)
Finding Your Feet / Green Bank @ 23/1 (3/1 & 5/1 : bet365)
