September continues to prove to be difficult and I (like many in our industry) am still scratching about a bit for winners. This was reflected over the last week for SotD followers, where I only hit one winner from 6, but had a couple of near misses; a runner-up at /2 and a 9/1 E/W shot that ran 4th.

Either of those would have made a big difference to the bottom line, which didn’t actually suffer too much, thanks to our sole winner being supplied at 9/2 BOG. That meant only a small 0.5pt loss for the week and with eight more opportunities ahead of us this month, the worst result for September would now still be an overall profit of 2.4pts.

2.4pts doesn’t sound brilliant, but it’s an ROI of 10% and we still have eight “free hits” to come.
