Double Dutch, 31st October 2014
A non-runner and an odds on winner was hardly what we were after, meaning a win single that reduced losses to 1.2 points. For Friday, I’m going Stateside for a change, and a couple of races which I’ve been through in some detail. They’re a bit of fun more than anything, and might provide a Hallowe’en special.
Thursday’s results were as follows:
Street Entertainer: won at 4/6
Debt To Society: 3rd at 5/1
——————————————
Baby King: NR (adv NA)
Summer Storm: 2nd at 5/1 (adv NA)
Results to date:
390 winning selections from 1368 = 28.51%
125 winning bets in 356 days = 35.11%
Stakes: 711.50pts
Returns: 754.82pts
P/L : +43.32pts (+6.09% ROI)
REMINDER: THERE IS NO DOUBLE DUTCH ON SUNDAYS
The Breeders Cup Dirt Mile has a strong favourite in Goldencents. Last year’s winner has the inside draw, and looks set to try to lead from start to finish. Many people have him as their nap of the two day meeting, and he towers above the field on most critera.
Against him, Fed Biz is an obvious threat. Just a neck behind Classic favourite, Shared Belief, last time, a repeat of that will see this 13/2 shot go very close.

The Distaff is the fillies’ championship race, and I’m happy to try two ‘taps’ – Untapable and Iotapa – against the rest. Untapable won the Kentucky Oaks in May and was much the best filly on the block back then. She’s been a stride slower since, though still managed to win five of her last six and, despite a wide draw, looks a big danger.
I’m against Close Hatches, and am instead quite sweet on the chance of Iotapa, a filly that won back to back Grade 1’s before running third last time. She’s got the biggest speed figure in the field and, if at the top of her game, should be able to stalk the pace and pounce late… at 10/1!
4 x 0.5pt doubles as follows:
Goldencents / Untapable @ 8.74/1 (5/4 & 10/3: BetVictor)
Goldencents / Iotapa @ 23.2/1 (6/5 & 10/1: Stan James)
Fed Biz / Untapable @ 28.25/1 (11/2 & 7/2: PP)
Fed Biz / Iotapa @ 65/1 (5/1 & 10/1: Ladbrokes, Betfair Sportsbook)
