Stat of the Day, 3rd November 2014
A smooth win on Saturday, as French Navy, advised at 3/1 and freely available at that price, took heavy support later eventually prevailing at 2/1. For our second November wager we move into the winter game, and specifically the…
A graduation chase over an extended two and a half miles, and one which may pay to follow such is the strength in depth. One with a range of attractive stats is the win machine, Bear’s Affair.
I like horses that like to win, and Nicky Henderson’s lad is that. He’s won seven of sixteen career starts (44%), he’s won five of his nine good ground (same as today) starts (56%), and he’s won both of the non-Pattern races he’s competed in for Barry Geraghty, this afternoon’s jockey (100%).
He’s won four of ten in non-handicap company (40%), and his jockey and trainer are hot right now too.
Nicky Henderson has all four green form symbols – 14 day, 30 day, course one year, course 2009+… and so does Geraghty.
All seven of Bear’s Affair’s career wins have been on flat(tish) tracks, including a win here at Kempton.
He should be able to stalk the pace set by Annacotty and, while the trip is likely a minimum for him these days, he has won at around this distance twice.
All very promising, so the general 4/1 BOG available deserves taking for a one point win bet.
