It was one of those weeks that gradually got better as it went along, resulting in a nice profit at the close of play!

We kicked off with two non-runners followed by a disappointing show at Kempton on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday saw two well-backed picks make the frame before Firth of the Clyde was a welcome winner at 13/2 on Saturday to round the week off in style.

It could be argued that there was a large slice of luck involved in the win, some would say he was closing in on the two fallers ahead of him anyway. There is no doubt, of course that he was handed the race after the falls, but could/would he have won anyway? Who knows? 😀

(P.S. I think we deserved a bit of luck, anyway!)
