Stat of the Day, 19th August 2015

No run for us yesterday, I’m afraid as the vet’s report (bad scope) caused Time Warp to be withdrawn from the action, which was very unfortunate, as I was expecting a good run for our money there.

But the beauty of a daily service means we don’t have to wait long for the next selection and Wednesday takes us to South Wales for the…

Your first 30 days for just £1

Which is a Class 4, 5 furlong sprint handicap on good ground in which Declan Bates will attempt to steer David Evans’ 4yr old gelding Sir Billy Wright to a second course and distance win inside 8 days and you can get 100/30 BOG about him doing so.

David Evans is 27/197 (13.7% SR) for 156.6pts (+79.5% ROI) here at Ffos Las since the course opened and in the last three seasons that record improves to 13/81 (16.1% SR) for 173.8pts at an impressive ROI of 214.6%!

In handicaps in the last three years he has had 10 winners from 68 (14.7% SR) for 46.7pts (+68.6% ROI) and he dpes like to send them back out fairly soon after a run, as those ‘cappers are 10/60 (16.7% SR) for 54.7pts when running within 3 to 30 days of their last outing.

Jockey Declan Bates also rides the course well with 9 winners from 40 (22.5% SR) producing profits of 29.4pts (+73.4% ROI) with a record of 7 from 35 (20% SR) inhandicaps here for 27.1pts at an ROI of 77.5%.

But it’s when Messrs Bates & Evans get together here at Trimsaran, that things get really interesting, as they are currently 6 from 25 (24% SR) for 35.4pts (+141.7% ROI) here with a handciap record of 6/23 (26.1% SR) for 37.4pts at an ROI of 162.7%.

As I said at the top, Sir Billy Wright was a course and distance winner here last time out, just 8 days ago on what was his first visit to this track and since the start of 2012 David Evans’ handicappers returning to the scene of a course and distance win off the back of a win (anywhere!) last time out are 16/70 (22.9% SR) for 37.7pts, whilst those turned back out within 4 to 25 days are 15/58 (25.9% SR) for 45.3pts (+78.2% ROI)

Of those running 4 to 25 days after a win LTO and having CD next to their name on the racecard and now run at the same trip as their last run/win 12 of 40 (30% SR) have been winners and the resultant level stakes profit of 42.6pts is worth 106.4% of the stake money.

I took my 100/30 BOG about Sir Billy Wright from Bet365, but the price is available with at least five other firms, so please…
