One from two again yesterday, as Love The Leader won well at Sedgefield, before both our runners were disappointingly well beaten at Lingfield.

1.25 Newmarket :

Only Mine failed by just a neck to land a group 3 contest at Ayr last time, when beaten by Shaden almost 6 weeks ago and in a slightly weaker contest with fewer rivals (and therefore less traffic) to deal with, she looks well set to go one better here at 9/4 BOG.

She’ll have to beat Priceless again though, as she did that day and the latter is expected to get closer than the 2.75 lengths gap she conceded that day. She pulled too hard early on, but it was only her second outing and she’ll come on for the experience and she also has winning form on good to soft ground from her debut run.

I wouldn’t want to be backing her at 13/8 BOG as a single, but I can cope with such a short price in a double.

1.40 Wetherby :

Kapstadt was pretty decent on the flat, despite being 0 from 3, but has come into his own over hurdles where he is now 3 from 7, having won each of his last three outings. Anticipated good to soft ground won’t be an issue today, nor should the trip and his odds of 7/2 BOG look quite appealing, providing he handles a 7lb weight rise, which means he now has to concede 11lbs to…

…John Ferguson´s lightly raced 3yr old Hadfield, who had two good efforts on the flat in France this summer before a switch to hurdling here in the UK, where his record now reads 121. Trip and going seem ideal and yard/jockey are in good form and they’ll expect to cash in at 11/4 BOG today.
