It looks like I couldn’t find my own backside with both hands at present as my current poor run of form contined on Friday without even a single winner to my name.
A 14 lengths runner-up and at third place beaten by a couple of lengths was as good as it got and I really need a change of fortune soon.
Friday’s results were as follows:
Alf n Dor : 2nd at 6/1 (adv 7/2)
Desert Retreat : 4th at 10/11 (adv 15/8)
Celtic Artisan : 3rd at 7/2 (adv 10/3)
Mfiftythreedotcom : 9th at 3/1 (adv 5/2)
Results to date:
797 winning selections from 2872 = 27.75%
246 winning bets in 743 days = 33.11%

Burning Thread @ 3/1 BOG
The yard is fine form recently, Oisin Murphy reides the track well and this horse has won two of his last five. Although the three defeats were all in fourth place, he hasn’t been beaten by far each time (1.4L, 1.6L and 1.4L) and ran really well in defeat last time out, possibly getting going just a fraction too late. He holds several of his rival on collateral form and would be my marginal pick here.
Taajub @ 9/2 BOG
Doesn’t won often enough, but this is his preferred track and his preferred distance. Class 4 is lower than he has been running at of late and with 3 wins from 5 February career runs allied to a 3 from 6 course and distance record (including winning this race in 2012 and 2014), I’d expect a decent run from him today,
Clyne @ 2/1 BOG
Lightly raced with just five starts to his name, but has 2 wins and 2 third placesunder his belt already, including finishes of 131 in three races here at Trimsaran. All his racing has been done on soft or heavy ground and he’s 2 from 2 at the trip and 2 from 2 over course and distance, including a 2.75 length victory here last time out. He’s only up 4lbs for that run and there seemed plenty left in the tank. Ffos Las’ testing ground catchesd many out, so Clyne represents a fairly safe option in my mind.
Cotillon @ 9/2 BOG
This one returned to racing last June after three years off the track and has steadily improved on his efforts to rebuild a career and over the last seven weeks or so has really begun to show signs of a return to past form, where he was a Class 2 winner and graded race competitor. He won three races on the bounce from mid-December to New Year over various trips/conditions showing a propensity for the softer ground and havinmg found Chelmsford’s 1m6f a little too sharp last time out, a return to 2m on testing ground should be right up his street.
