Saturday’s runner goes in the…

3.55 Lingfield:

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

Si Senor @ 7/2 BOG

This 5yr old gelding is in decent form, having won a similar C3 contest over course and distance two starts ago, before narrowly failing over track and trip hare raised to Class 2 a fortnight ago. Having only been beaten by a neck last time out, the drop back in Class should be enough to get him back to winning ways.

This is the thought backed up by the prowess of his trainer, Ed Vaughan in A/W handicaps, whose such runners are 25 from 135 (18.5% SR) for 60.6pts (+44.9% ROI) since the start of 2013, suggesting you could follow him blindly and make profit, but I’d just back his male runners, because they are 18/82 (22% SR) for 62.4pts (+76.1% ROI).

And further analysis of those 82 male runners shows that…

  • those priced at 5/1 and shorter are 16/51 (31.4% SR) for 24.5pts (+48% ROI)
  • those carrying 9-01 to 9-06 are 13/42 (31% SR) for 26.2pts (+62.4% ROI)
  • those rated (OR) 75 and higher are 9/29 (31% SR) for 13.86pts (+47.8% ROI)
  • those racing in Classes 2 to 4 : 8/28 (28.6% SR) for 9.61pts (+34.3% ROI)
  • here at Lingfield : 6/23 (26.1% SR) for 8.62pts (+37.5% ROI)
  • those dropping down in class are 4/15 (26.7% SR) for 9.14pts (+60.9% ROI)

And as for Si Senor, he’s 4/13 on the A/W, which manifests itself into 4 wins from 10 in handicaps, 4 from 9 over today’s trip and 4 from 9 at 4/1 and shorter. He’s also 1 from 2 at this Class 3 grade and his two course and distance runs have yielded a win and a defeat by just a neck.

So today’s play is…a 1pt win bet on Si Senor at 7/2 BOG with Bet365, who are currently (8.15pm) the stand out price at the moment. To check that’s still the case, simply…
