Tuesday’s Result :
5.40 Lingfield: Ilzam @ 7/1 E/W BOG 2nd at 5/1 (Held up in last pair, driven to chase leaders on inside over 1f out, soon ridden, went 2nd and kept on inside final furlong, no impression with winner)
Wednesday’s pick goes in the…
Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.
Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.
Dream Ally at 7/2 BOG.
This 6 yr old gelding was a course and distance winner 19 days ago, but failed to cope with a 6lb rise in weights when beaten by a length and a half, finishing 3rd over this track and trip two days ago.
A 7lb jockey claim now effectively puts him on a mark lower than his last winning effort as he seeks a fourth C&D success and that will hopefully give him a chance of improving his yard’s record in this type of event.
His trainer, John Weymes’ record in Class 6 handicaps here at Wolverhampton shows 20 winners from 171 (11.7% SR) runners since the start of 2008 and they have generated level stakes profits of 53.1pts at a decent ROI of 31.1%, from which…
- those priced at 9/1 and shorter are 14/69 (20.3% SR) for 34.5pts (+50% ROI)
- those racing over this 6f trip are 11/69 (15.9% SR) for 57.7pts (+83.6% ROI)
- with 6 year olds winning 7 of 23 (30.4% SR) for 56.6pts (+246% ROI)
John’s Class 6, 6f handicappers at 9/1 and shorter are 8/31 (25.8% SR) for 39.3pts (+126.8% ROI)
In addition to the trainer stats above, the quick reappearance of Dream Ally is significant too, as since the start of 2008 in A/W handicaps of 5 to 16 runners, horses aged 2 to 7, reappearing 1 to 5 days after a defeat of less then 5 lengths are 86/378 (22.8% SR) for 178.3pts (+47.2% ROI) when turned out over the same trip during the March to October period.
And the call is…a 1pt win bet on Dream Ally at 7/2 BOG with any of Bet365, Betbright, Hills and/or SkyBet, who were the four market leaders at 7.00pm. To see what your bookie is offering, simply…
