Race of the Day – 6 Sep
Race of the Day – 16:35 Leicester
This is a seven furlong maiden which, due to the recent rain we’ve been having, is being run on good to soft. Over half of the field are unraced, therefore it will be a tricky race to call.
Sir Michael Stoute has two runners in the field with Elucidation having already had a run when finishing an encouraging third in a Newmarket maiden. Stoute has solid recent form and together with a few others trainers with runners here, he has really useful course form over the past five years.
A stat that I found of particular interest was from looking at the excellent Trainer Snippets tool. From this we can see that Sir Michael Stoute has an exceptional record with horses making their second start. He has 42 wins (28.38%) and 84 places (56.76%) from 148 runners which returned a win P/L of 66.98 and a place P/L of 81.75 to level stakes. These are seriously impressive figures and makes Elucidation of interest.
Ryan Moore rides the other Stoute horse in the race so it can be assumed he is the more fancied runner, however this may well lead to it being underpriced, which in turn could give a little bit of value on Elucidation, especially given the above stats.
