Friday’s pick goes in the…
Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.
Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.
Silverrica at 4/1 BOG
This 6 yr old mare was a winner last time out nine days ago, just about holding out over 5.5f under today’s jockey, the in-form Georgina Cox (more on her shortly!). Our pick today is unpenalised for that win, as it came in an apprentices’ race, her mark of 74 remains unaltered. Our jockey, however, now claims her 5lbs allowance here and the slight drop back in trip, this looks (on paper, at least!) an easier task than last time.
Trainer Malcolm Saunders’ runners are 5/14 (35.7% SR) for 20.2pts (+144.3% ROI) profit over the last three weeks, of which Georgina has ridden 2 winners from 2 for 15.54pts and she’s in tremendous form too.
She had a nice winner for Malcolm at Doncaster on Thursday, as well as winning the SotD race for a 2 from 2 day that takes her current run to 5 consecutive wins. And more longer-term than those 5 rides, her career record (as short as it is!) in handciaps now stands at 24 winners from 150 (16% SR) for level stakes profits of 25.7pts at an ROI of 17.1%, from which…
- on the Flat : 16/88 (18.2%) for 40.4pts (+45.9%)
- at Class 5 : 16/51 (31.4%) for 83.6pts (+163.9%)
- using her 5lb claim : 7/21 (33.3%) for 29.6pts (+140.9%)
- and for Malcolm Saunders : 4/11 (36.4%) for 22.03pts (+200.3%)
Silverrica is 1 from 1 over course and distance, 6/19 at Class 5, 3 from 5 under today’s jockey and was sired by the USA-bred Ad Valorem, whose offspring are 48/382 (12.6% SR) for 80.7pts (+21.1% ROI) in handicap company since the start of 2014, from which…
- 5 to 8 yr olds are 43/298 (14.4%) for 132.6pts (+44.5%)
- those racing at trips shorter than 7f are 18/117 (15.4%) for 26.1pts (+22.3%)
AND…5 to 8 yr olds racing at trips shorter than 7f are 14/84 (16.7% SR) for 33.6pts (+40% ROI)
…pointing towards…a 1pt win bet on Silverrica at 4/1 BOG, a price available in half a dozen places at 6.15pm on Thursday, but to see your preferred bookies’ odds, simply…
