Stat of the Day, 10th October 2016

Saturday’s Result :

4.20 York : Gulliver @ 11/4 BOG WON at 4/1 (Always prominent, led over 2f out, edged left and went clear over 1f out, stayed on to win by a length.) Those who followed my advice and used Bet365 will have got paid out at 9/2, thanks to the BOG plus initiative, but my official figures will just show a 4pt return.

Monday’s pick goes in the…

6.55 Chelmsford :

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

Brick Lane at 4/1 BOG

Quite a simple one for you today, featuring an in-form horse for a trainer having an excellent debut year so far.

First up, the horse : she’s a 3 yr old filly who comes here on a recent run of form reading 112, all on the All-Weather with that last run being a defeat by just a neck on her first visit here to Chelmsford, where she didn’t have the “kick” needed to get home over 7f, so it is hoped the extra yardage will suit her today.

And to the trainer, Robyn Brisland, who possibly might not be a familiar name to too many of you, but for the record, she was a fairly unsuccessful jockey in the mid 2000’s but has fared considerably better in her debut year as a trainer!

So far, in 2016, her runners are 11/75 (14.7% SR) for 139.6pts (+186.1% ROI), with the following of particular relevance today…

  • over 6f to 1m2f : 11/61 (18%) for 153.6pts (+251.8%)
  • on the A/W : 10/52 (19.2%) for 145.8pts (+280.4%)
  • females are 6/40 (15%) for 138.1pts (+345.2%)
  • handicappers are 7/37 (18.9%) for 5.17pts (+14%)
  • 3 yr olds are 5/32 (15.6%) for 133.7pts (+417.9%)
  • and here at Chelmsford : 6/30 (20%) for 143.7pts (+478.9%)

AND…from the above : 3 yr old females over 6f to 1m2f on the A/W = 5/14 (35.7% SR) for 151.7pts (+1083.7% ROI) with handicappers winning 3 of 9 (33.3%) for 13.42pts (+149.1%) and Cheltenham runners winning 3 of 7 (42.9%) for 144.9pts (+2070.7%)
