Race of the Day – 14:40 Leicester
A seven furlong claiming stakes at Leicester for Race of the Day, with a wide open race on the face of it.
Richard Fahey has an outstanding record here at Leicester over the past five years. He’s had 29 winners from 135 runners (21.48%) for a level stakes profit of 118.80. He run Spirit Of Zeb here today and he is currently vying for favouritism at around the 7/2 mark.
With the Instant Expert tab on the ‘place’ setting, it shows a full line of green for Infiniti. This makes him really stand out compared to the rest of the field and warrants serious consideration for a place, at least.
Horses that lead early on here at this distance have a win record of 16.59% over the period covered for a level stakes profit of 1.71. This is from a large sample size so although it is only a tiny profit, it is worth taking note of.
Spirit Of Zeb, Dodgy Bob and Mecca’s Missus all have the joint highest pace score and look likely to be fighting it out for the lead. Considering they are drawn three, four and five they will be able to take each other along as well.
The draw isn’t hugely conclusive, but it does show that it is preferable to be drawn away from the middle of the stalls as horses draw down the centre have easily the poorest record.
