Stat of the Day, 29th October 2016

Friday’s Result :

5:00 Wetherby : 3rd @ 11/4 BOG (Always prominent, led 3 out, ridden before next, headed before last, kept on towards finish)

Saturday’s pick goes in the…

14:45 Wetherby

Before I post the daily selection, just a quick reminder of how I operate the service. Generally, I’ll identify and share the selection in the evening before the following day’s race and I then add a detailed write-up later on that night/next morning.

Those happy to take the early price on trust can do so, whilst some might prefer to wait for my reasoning. As I fit the early service in around my family life, I can’t give an exact timing on the posts, so I suggest you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook for instant notifications of a published pick.

Who?

Native River at 13/2 BOG

Why?

Colin Tizzard’s gelding by Indian River reverts back to hurdling, where he was rated as high as 145.

Tizzard has the following stats that are applicable here…

  • his record with middle distance jumpers is 64/323 for 34.01 pts (19.87%)
  • over the past 14 days he is 6/29 for 1.67 pts (20.69%)
  • at Wetherby over the past year he is 4/6 for 17.98pts (66.67%)

Richard Johnson has been in good form recently with 12/53 (23.53%) and has a similar record at the course over a five year period 13/59 (22.03%).

Native River was running really well over the fences, therefore it is a fascinating switch back to hurdles, and if taking to them I think he will take all the beating.
