Race of the Day – 3 Nov

Race of the Day – 15:45 Newbury

This is a useful looking two mile handicap hurdle with quite a few in with a chance.

Peter The Mayo Man is chasing a hat trick and is making his handicap debut today. Both his trainer Neil Mulholland and jockey Noel Fehily are in great current form, as can be seen by the green characters below their names. If you click the trainer and jockey icons below the horses name, you will be able to see this is more detail.

Barman shows up really well here with four sections of green to his name, and over a reasonable sample of races as well. The only section that isn’t green is his course form, having never raced here before.

Astra De La Cour also looks useful on this report, with two sections of green and two of amber.

From looking at the Pace tab we can see that leaders here have a good record over this distance, with over 22% of them going on to take the win for a level stakes profit of 17.58.

The Gipper is a confirmed front runner and it looks very likely that he will take them along, and try to make all, as he has done in the past. This is a better race than he is used to however, and his early pace setting may well set things up nicely for a few of them to come past him when the pace quickens.

Barman likes to track the leader and be prominent. It appears that Nico De Boinville will probably do the same again with The Gipper being the likely leader, and he looks to have a decent chance here. Added to that he also tops the Speed Ratings.
